Song Review:

Ride In My Little Red Wagon

Overall Impression:

Nolan Bruce Allen and the gang bring their signature musical wit to fruition with a recording of their original nostalgia-borne tune, Ride In My Little Red Wagon!  True to the Western Swing style, a mesmerizing blend of Jazz and Country Western instrumental deliveries saunter onto the scene and take turns pulling the listeners along for a joyous Ride In My Little Red Wagon!

Strongest Point(s):

Wonderful sounds, as always!  The introduction is strong, with the strings giving an overture of the coming melodic theme - expertly handing it off from instrument to instrument before NBA comes along with the lyrics.  Then, each player takes turns delivering a lovely instrumental counterpoint to the lyrical melody before the first solo break. Excellent work from the guitarist, and a strong hand off to the piano and slide with the fiddle catching just a tail end before the next lyrical moment.  Seriously stunning performances from each player, and a very concise, entertaining structure to the tune.  This is marvelous work and a sound that never gets old!

Target Audience Appeal:

Listeners familiar with the Western Swing Genre will become enamored with the precision and clarity of Nolan Bruce Allen's sound - and for the unfamiliar, Ride In My Little Red Wagon offers a rose-tinted gateway into the field with pristine playing and lyrics that conjure simpler, sweeter times. - Jon W.
