Overall Impression:
Nolan Bruce Allen lets his Western Swing sensibilities shine with his original work, Yearning! Supremely skilled slide guitar mingles with Nolan Bruce Allen's slick vocal approach to create a light and lilting tune, while the guitar, fiddle, and walking bass featured in Yearning expertly fill out the sound and invite listeners to come bounce along.
Strongest Point(s):
The mixed meters in the verse is hypnotic - creating just enough disturbance in the established flow to cause listeners to lean in even closer! The first sliding vocal approach in the chorus is really nice, and the harmonies are very tasteful! Very memorable chorus, with plenty of energy and skill on display. Excellent breaks at 1:22, 1:33, and 1:43 - really nice showcase of the instrumental talent!
